Graduates at CLAAS

Your start in a future-oriented sector.

After you have completed your degree, you will have many opportunities to start your practical career. Choose your career path with us: The way to a secure and successful future with a clear objective ahead.

Focus subject Engineering

Starting at the CLAAS Engineering division will be your ticket to a top-class technological world. Here, you will experience the challenging task of continuously improving harvests by using innovative technology. Innovation and quality represent core values of our products. Therefore, one of the CLAAS maxims is to be First Mover in agricultural technology.

At CLAAS, engineers take on major responsibilities at an early stage: They develop and design our highly-complex machines. Our combine harvesters and forage harvesters are like factories on four wheels, for example. What makes CLAAS unique in this context is the fact that our engineers are always responsible for an entire product and not just for one single component, as it is in the automotive industry.

Very different divisions at CLAAS will, therefore, be open to you as a trainee in the Engineering division: Design, Supply Chain Management, Production Logistics or Research and Development are only a few of the divisions in which you can gain experience.

CLAAS invests considerably in Research & Development to maintain its current and future position as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural technology and to permanently develop innovations suitable for the market. And, of course, we also invest in the development of young talents in this field.

This sets you apart from others:

You are fascinated by agricultural technology and innovations. In addition to that, you’re a real team player and you would like to meet our – as well as your own – high quality standards at all times.

  • Example of possible assignments in the Production Department.

Example project "Conception of a logistics simulation for the detailed planning of the shell construction in Krasnodar"

    Initial situation:

    • Expansion of the production site in Krasnodar
    • Upcoming detailed logistics planning of the shell construction

    Objective:

    • Determination of the logistics flow in the shell construction (e.g. container requirements and racking arrangement)

    Approach:

    • Prior work (e.g. adaptation of parts lists)
    • Adaptation/further development of the existing simulation model
    • Evaluation and validation of the simulations
    • Constant exchange with colleagues in Krasnodar

    Challenge:

    • Extensive prior work (limited data basis)
    • Framework conditions change during the development (continuous adaptation of the simulation)
    • Close coordination during programming in the team

    Highlight:

    • Opportunity to participate in the project from Harsewinkel
    • Passing on the simulation evaluation for implementation
  • Example of possible assignments in the R&D Department.

Example project "Support of customer machines with pre-series technology/prototypes (software/hardware of combine harvesters)"

    Initial situation:

    • Test of a software for machine optimisation, which will be implemented in the market in the next few years

    Objective:

    • Installation, software tests and weakness analysis

    Approach:

    • Customers receive the pre-series version and are supported
    • After the installation of the software/hardware and the data logger, the customers will be trained and visited regularly
    • The data logger shows the developers the working or non-working activities of the machine (forwarding of read-out data to the R&D colleagues in Harsewinkel for the development of the prototypes)
    • Obtaining customer feedback (pros/cons).

    Challenge:

    • Software updates/prototypes are tested during the harvest
    • React immediately in case of machine failure and resolve errors

    Highlight:

    • Getting to know different regions and demands of American customers
    • Travelling from Canada to Missouri
