My career at CLAAS:
- Since October 2011: Work planner in the assembly of the JAGUAR field chopper
- 2008-2011: Dual course of study in Industrial Engineering, University of Osnabrück
- 2006-2008: Traineeship as an industrial clerk
- Additional qualification as a foreign language correspondent
This is how I came to be at CLAAS:
A year prior to my school graduation, I applied to several companies regionally and nationally. CLAAS was the most attractive company at the time I applied. When the acceptance came from CLAAS, it was immediately clear to me that I was going to start my education here.
This is what I liked in particular about my traineeship at CLAAS:
In addition to the wide range of exciting applications and tasks, which I became acquainted with during my training at CLAAS, it was in particular the "team spirit" which I noticed very early on. From the very beginning, you are treated here as a fully-fledged colleague no matter whether you are a trainee, a student or later on in the job. This is especially reflected during training by the commitment of the many training officers, who always succeed in taking time for the new colleagues in addition to attending to their "day-to-day business".
Now my specific tasks are:
I have a wide range of responsibilities in the field of work planning. These range from the integration of new development contents in Assembly to a continuous improvement of processes within production. Due to the ever increasing individual product range and the continuously growing "intelligence" of our machines, it is becoming more challenging all the time to design as far as possible an efficient and high-quality assembly process. As a project manager of an assembly structure project, I was able to actively participate in the assembly process together with the project team to an even larger extent and in a very tangible way. These creative possibilities and the many different people with whom I work together every day are two factors that I feel are particularly exciting in my profession.
The company culture at CLAAS is marked by...
...a very high degree of collegiality, loyalty and constant striving forward and to further develop one self.
This inspires me to work at CLAAS:
I am inspired by technically demanding products in a very exciting market, and also by the people who shape this company with their enthusiasm and loyalty. This combination is what makes the difference at CLAAS for me and inspires me to tackle my job again and again with joy and enthusiasm.
This is what distinguishes CLAAS as an employer from other companies:
I find it especially extraordinary that a high level of trust is placed in young professionals just starting out and young people. I was allowed to take responsibility for a project very early on. This was a very important and helpful experience for me. The high esteem and the opportunity to take responsibility early on, as well as the support provided with new tasks, characterise CLAAS as a particularly interesting employer.
My personal career advice for pupils:
There are, of course, many factors that affect success at school, in an apprenticeship or at university. For me personally, this was the driving force for me to constantly develop myself, learn new things and above all understand them. This demands, of course, an "open attitude" towards things that are new but also a high degree of personal initiative. The latter in particular is a crucial building block to find the right way and then to consistently pursue it.
